Post and plank signs are the next step up from a standard post-mounted sign. Just like a post-mounted sign, they can be situated wherever you like. You aren’t restricted to an existing wall, fence or similar structure. They are usually used as the main welcome sign at the entrance of your business premises.
Our post and plank signs are made by combining specially extruded aluminium posts with aluminium panels in a thin box-section. The interface between the panel and the channel in the extruded posts give a seamless appearance that is the most premium finish we offer.
And with our post and plank signs, all the aluminium components will be powder-coated to a colour to match your branding.
We supply everything you need to assemble your post and plank sign except the cement.
Flexible panel system
You can order more than 1 panel to fit your posts. This is really handy if you have a part of the sign that might change – eg. a unit sub-let, or an area describing members of staff who rotate roles. Just slide out the old panel and slide in the new.
All the panels have to be the same width to fit the distance between your posts, but they can vary in height.
Panels come in three widths: 100cm, 120cm and 160cm. This dictates the distance between your posts.
Panels are available in 5 different heights: 20cm, 30cm, 60cm, 90cm and 120cm.
How do I install and assemble my post and plank sign?
You will need to prepare the ground to receive your new post and plank sign. Your facilities team, you, or a local handy-man will need to dig two post holes and concrete the posts in place, the correct distance apart. There are a number of ready-mix, rapid setting “post fix” concretes on the market that are perfect for installing sign posts. Just add water!
Once your posts are fixed in the ground, position the fillers in the post channels to the bottom of where you panel will finish, then slide your panel into the channels to meet the fillers. Finish the posts off with the matching powder-coated post caps.
How deep should I bury my sign posts?
Ideally, you should aim for 2 to 3 feet of post buried in the ground, but realistically, aim for a minimum depth based on the following table:
